Known by Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail riders as the “Gateway to the Tunnels, the village of Norwalk Wisconsin is located in a valley on State Highway 71 four miles Southeast of the longest tunnel on the converted railroad to bike trail system. An afternoon can be spent at the village park where the trail runs through the village. On your visit keep your eyes open for a sighting of the village’s other resident, the black squirrel. This small rural community holds its annual Black Squirrel Weekend the 2nd weekend in August. The weekend events include fireworks, a tractor pull, chicken barbeque and a dance.
